Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter.  Please enjoy.

We are continuing to grow with our membership now reaching 650.  We are spreading our roots into new locations every day.  Members are sharing their time, knowledge, excess produce, plants, herbs and many other resources that would have ended up in the bin.  But there is more we can share and we will only make an impact when we grow our number of listings.

I would like to share a story with your about a recent listing.  Merryl makes pickles and she is always looking for medium sized glass jars.  Merryl found some glass jars on Spare Harvest and she was overjoyed.  You see Merryl’s pickles are special, they go with Care Outreach volunteers when they make care visits to our farmers.  Merryl was so grateful for the glass jars, as they allowed her to continue supplying pickles to Care Outreach.  Who knew unwanted glass jars had a special part to play in supporting our farmers.  So the message is – your waste is valuable to someone else.  Don’t waste your waste anymore.

We have received feedback that you would like to know more about gardening.  We are listening and have invited Cath Manuel to be part of our team.  Cath is an accomplished horticulturist with an interest in health and wellbeing.  Cath will be a regular contributor sharing gardening knowledge and tips through Cath’s Garden Tips Blog.  Check out her first blog.

Thank you for being part of the community.  When you connect with another member to share what you have spare or create a listing to share what you no longer need, you are making a positive impact in your community and environment.

Noarlunga Community Garden – SA

Noarlunga Community Garden recently created a couple of listings to find volunteers and share a variety of herbs.  A community garden listing is a great way to introduce yourself to your wider community and let them know what you are up to.  Check out their listings and the many other listings here.
